Intial Stage

This is the second day of the renovation work. We rushed them to start off some reno work first. No matter what must start off by this week, as the chinese Hungry Ghost month is around the corner. Have to start hacking before "the" month starts.

They put up all the air-cond piping. and this is how it looks like... heehee... the next step would be doing the ceiling...

Since the tiles looks great, we didnt plan to change the bathroom tiles... at first we tot we wanted to do some baliness feel, well, that cost too much though...

And by using my Sony Alpha lense, im proudly present~~~ the view of uptown from my master bedroom window!!! Ermm, i think it can zoom much more further... maybe in my next visit, i'll shoot the KL view ...

Scouting for Furniture & Kitchen

The interior part seems to be going smoothly. So now we started to scout for furniture and kitchen. We've told beverly homes that we will going to have a black couch, black tv cabinet, black dining, black coffee table. So now we spotted our ideal furniture in Harvey Norman...

As for the kitchen, we did a few rounds to several kitchen designer... Signature Kitchen, Kitchen Palace, Kuchen... Signature Kitchen provides a very good kitchen set, but quite common nowadays and ppl will straight away know it's from Signature Kitchen when they sees your kitchen ... pricing, expensive, just for the cabinet, work top and a few accesories. Kitchen Palace, well, I will never recommend anyone to visit Kitchen Palace. NEVER. When you first go in, they will treat you as a valuable customer, giving a lot of advices... very goood indeed. Normally after you discuss what kind of cabinet you would like to have, you will provide them your floor plan, and they will need 1 week to come out with the full 3D design. Kitchen Palace told us, they need 2 weeks to come out with an initial design, not 3D design yet. That is so long, fine. We waited for 3 weeks. Yet, no calls from them yet as they promise to call in 2 weeks time. So we drop by to check what happened. To my surprise, the salesman didnt even recognise us. So we explained everything and asked for our design. Well, he said he havent come out with the design yet! So i get very cranky. He said just give him 20 mins to draw out the initial design. WHATT?? He said he need 2 weeks to do that and now he said he can get it done by20 mins?? That's it, im outta here. Slammed.

So we went to next door, Kuchen, well, nice showroom they have, nice salesman, explaning everything in details, sound promising, very good. Nice and clean design, I love it... but the price is quite high though ... around 50K just for the kitchen.... very tempting ~~~~

Hunting for ID

Now we starts to look for ID [interior desiger]. My dear did a lot of web searching, forums, and he did email to some of the ID and ask for quotations... Well, to have the exactly / slightly different design as per the magz is quite expensive ... without 100K, dont ever think about getting a famous ID .... (T_T)'' anyway, we did not just stopped there... we continue to look for ID either from magz or from Home Decor Exhibition... Met a few IDs, don't quite like it though... some because of their reluctant to go according to our budget, some proposed a very simple, typical chinese design, some even worse, they do not listen to our requirement and needs, as we want what we planned since the beginning, and they said normally they will do like this this this, your idea is not very goood and this and that, the worse thing is, their attitude. ARGGHH, it's not easy to get a gooood ID.
After a few months of ID hunting, we found a goood and promising one. Beverly Homes. We both loves their design, and we spotted them on Magz too. To my surpise, they do accomodate our requirements, and came back with a fast response. Thumbs up. So we told them what we want, in details, and they begin to draft out the design. It will takes a week or so to come out with the initial design...

Start Planing

Ok, now we have to decide how we want to renovate our new house. Well, I personally do not want to follow the traditional chinese kinda reno... with white walls, and simple cabinet... I want something nice and modern. So we starts buying ID (interior design) Magazines. Instead of spending on Cleo and Women's Weekly, we invested on ID Magz instead. The design looks great and the figures looks GREAT tooo... T_T''

After so many rounds of reseaching, we finally knows what we want. We know how exactly we want the living room to be, how the bedrooms will look like. And the most exciting plan, is my dream room, da game room... I want to get the wall hacked down and replaced with a glass wall instead. Woww... after a long discussion, it seems to be quite expensive to do that, so we minimized it, and just have the door taken down, and replace with a glass sliding door instead. First of all, it will save space, where we can put the TV just beside the door...

Building

Since it is nearby, we can actually monitor the construction's progress. In each week, they can finished building 1 Floor. At least from the outside, it is a floor per week. Counting, Counting and Counting ....

And here is the location map. Good location huh ... hehe ... Can't get a unit anywhere around this area for 269 K .... Others that we browsed around, cost at least 290K - 300K and above .... pheww... So this unit is a good bargain, well, again, I hope the management is good enough to keep all the facilities and landscapes in good condition all the time....
